If I can, you can! – Frozen Yogurt

Yes, yes another food processor recipe! I can promise it will not be the last though because I am really enjoying it. So the ingredients in the recipe seem almost too simple and obvious I know but when mixed in the right ratio in the trusty food processor, you actually get something fairly comparable to that delicious mall frozen yogurt. The cocoa powder doesn’t so much give it a chocolate flavor as it makes it taste richer. Give it a try and find out for yourself! Makes 1 serving: Calories: 108 Fat: 0.7g. Vanilla Frozen Yogurt in a Blender?

I found this recipe for strawberry frozen yogurt and it said to just combine the fruit and plain yogurt in a blender and then freeze.

              Will this work?

Also, If I just take vanilla extract and yogurt and mix it in a blender and then freeze it, would that make vanilla frozen yogurt. I do not have an ice cream machine, so any hints using a blender would be great!

              Thank you!

                What foods travel well?

I asked this before, but the answers were things like TV dinners so I’ll try to say more this time.

I am going to the Great Wolf Lodge soon. 3 days, 2 nights. We’ll have to bring food because eating out would cost too much. The room has a mini fridge and microwave. I’m looking for things I can actually make. REAL food. I despise TV dinners. It would have to survive a car trip about 5 hours long. Yes, I have a (small) cooler. Yes, I can buy some stuff (like bread and stuff that would be ruined in a car) at a nearby store. Most of the stuff would be in plastic bags (I have like no containers). I have the ability to actually cook (Not nearly a gourmet chef, but I can make a fair amount of stuff (I like making bread the best. Its fun) and recipes don’t confuse me) but not the ability to buy super expensive ingredients. I like healthier, fresher food (meaning not everything has to be fried and covered in cheese)

One of the things I was thinking of would be Pizza. I make it. The crust is just a jiffy mix, but its okay. And would stand a car trip (its not like regular pizza, kinda tough)

And Gazpacho. Its not like what you are probably thinking, tomato in a blender. Its chopped cucumbers and tomatoes with salt, garlic, a bit of oil, and enough water to fill the bowl, then put in the fridge for at least an hour. I would either A) make it all there or B) Dice the veggies and crush the garlic, add the water there. But that could be messy…

                So, any suggestions?

And if you are awesome, you would list a good recipe.

And if you are totally awesome, you would put the ingredients in a handy little list with comments of what to buy at a store ex. Smoothies

                Frozen berries
                Sugar
                Milk (buy when there)
                Yogurt (buy when there)

Make sure to say things that I could make there and stuff I could make at home!
Ramen noodles are gross :P Plain without flavoring and salty with it. And it doesn’t have a stove.

Also, it will be in Traverse City, so is there anything really good there (Like Pinconning is known for cheese)? (Cherries won’t be in season yet)

What is your favorite smoothie recipe?

I bought frozen strawberries & peaches (not to be used together), and plain yogurt. What more do I need to make the perfect smoothie? :-)
Glee; What all do you put together in the blender? :)

                    How do I make a blueberry-banana smoothie?

Hi. I have some questions about making a blueberry-banana smoothie. I have blueberries and a banana already.

                    1) Is it true that using ice cubes waters down the taste?

                    2) If I freeze the fruit how long should it be for? Until the fruit is rock hard?

                    3) Why do recipes include yogurt, milk, strawberries, cinnamon, honey among other things, when I don’t see these ingredients used at a smoothie store? Do I really need them?

                    4) Is there any order to what ingredients I put in the blender first?

                    5) How long do I blend and at what speed?
                    6) Some sites say use vanilla yogurt others say use yogurt that is the same as the flavour of the smoothie? Which one do I use and if its blueberry yogurt, do I use the yogurt with the blueberries at the bottom or blueberry flavoured yogurt?

                    7) How much of each ingredient do I use?
